BPCC and SUSLA Get Wins For The Week; LSUS Lady Pilots Take Big Opponents; Centenary Ladies Place Three In Starting Five - Under The Radar - NW Louisiana

The four local Shreveport/Bossier colleges finished the week with 2 wins.  SUSLA picked up a win over local competitor ETBU JV team.   BPCC grabbed a 10-point win on the road against Delgado on Saturday.   LSUS traveled to Lyon College and faced the host team along with No. 11 Central Methodist University.   

Centenary (1-5) had a tough three games for the week.  The Ladies had a lead over Hendrix heading into the fourth quarter but lost it after Madi Pierce’s three-pointer with 6:51 remaining.  Hendrix never gave the lead the rest of the game.   Jazzmyn Jones scored 15 points and 6 rebounds for the Ladies.  Addy Tremie contributed 14 points and 8 rebounds.   The Ladies headed to Jackson, MS to take on Millsaps and came up short.  Mary Leday led the Ladies with 11 points.  Dymon Drumgo scored 10 points.  Jazzmyn Jones grabbed 8 rebounds and 5 steals.   Jennae Mayberry also crashed the boards for 5 rebounds.  Centenary had one final homestand for the week against Belhaven.  Addy Tremie had a big game with 24 points and 7 rebounds.  Jazzmyn Jones continued to have a good week with an 11 point game.  Mary Leday had a big support role with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.  Dymon Drumgo and Destini Powell snatched 6 rebounds each. 

LSUS Lady Pilots (4-6) had a tough week before taking the Thanksgiving week off.  LSUS took on an exhibition game against Southland Conference, Division I Southeastern LA Lions.  The Lions took the 74-35 win.  Ciera Daniels gave the Hammond crowd 11 points and 6 rebounds.   Chelsey White grabbed 6 rebounds.  DeAuja Thompson snatched 5 rebounds.  LSUS went to Batesville, AR, and competed in the Lyons College Classic.   In their game on Friday night, they face the host team Lyons college, and fell by 5 points.   Tatym Barnes was the only Lady Pilot that finished in double digits with 11 points.  Chelsey White took 8 boards including 6 defensive rebounds.  Ciera Daniels grabbed 7 rebounds, all defensive rebounds.  Angel Reese crashed the boards for 6 rebounds.  Britney Thompson snatched 5 rebounds.  In the second game on Saturday, the Lady Pilots had to face No. 11 Central Methodist Eagles.  Angel Reese was the leading scorer for the Lady Pilots with 11 points and 6 rebounds.  Taralyn Sweeney had 6 rebounds, all defensive rebounds.  Ciera Daniels collected 5 rebounds. 

BPCC Lady Cavaliers (4-2) were road warriors for the week as they headed to Baton Rouge and then headed south to meet the men’s team in a doubleheader at Delgado.   Baton Rouge CC got the better of the Lady Cavs by 7.   Faith Robinson led BPCC with 16 points.  Ma’Kaila Lewis swished 12 points.  DaNae Williams scored 10 against the Bears.   The Lady Cavs got back on the winning ways with the win over the Delgado CC Dolphins.    Aaliyah Stevenson scored 19 points.  Faith Robinson had a massive rebound night with 16 rebounds (7 offensive, 9 defensive)  and 12 points.  Kasja Johnson also hit the boards with 7 rebounds.  

SUSLA Lady Jags (2-5) started their three-game week with a win over the ETBU JV team.   Sokhna Toure was the top scorer with 18 points and 5 rebounds.  Alecia Howard was right behind with 16 points and 7 rebounds.  Chamoria Scott added 10 points and 6 rebounds.  Peni West also had 6 rebounds.  Kelcee Marshall snagged 5 rebounds.  Green Oak graduate Charneshia Collins helped with 5 assists.  The Lady Jags carried a 42-40 lead into the final quarter but dropped the game 67-65.  A huge 27-6 third quarter for Pearl River CC pushed the Lady Wildcats out of reach for SUSLA.  Alecia Howard finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds.  Collins added 12 points.  Bossier’s Kelcee Marshall scored 11 points and 5 rebounds.
