The Louisiana Sports Writers Association released the Class C All-State Team on Thursday and little old District 1-C has some big bragging rights. Gibsland-Coleman Lady Bulldogs’ semifinal appearance helped place three on the All-State team.
The only senior on the whole squad continued to grab accolades as she made first-team honors. Jackson was also declared the District 1-C MVP. She also competed for the East Team in the LHSCA All-Star game last weekend.
Ke’Honestly Williams was the high scorer in the semi-final matchup with 21 points including four 3-pointers gained some attention. Williams was selected to the second team honors in Class C. Williams was also selected as first-team on the All-District team.
Eighth grade Lady Bulldog sensation, Samora Sampson, took home an honorable mention for the state team. Sampson also collected a first all-district award.
Summerfield’s Malaysia Tate was the only Rebel honored on the Class C team. Tate had an impressive senior season getting the Lady Rebels to the quarterfinals. Tate earned first-team honors in All-District.
On the boys’ side, District 1-MVP, Joshua Adams, took home honorable mention honors. The Bulldogs advanced to the quarterfinals this year in playoffs.
