The time is called the second season and it has begun and some local teams have found success in the first round.  One of the first round matchups had a local flavir among district rivals.  Boys and girls teams from Calvary, Loyola, and North Caddo all qualified for the playoffs.  

GIRLS

No. 2 Loyola 8, No. 31 North Caddo 0

Unfortunately only District 1 team could advance in the Division IV playoffs.  Grace Weiford and Kennedy Kerr each had two goals in the win.  Maggie Googe, Caroline Walls, Ainsley Matlock, and Ella Poole all had a goal each.  Carmen Gaitan collected two assists.  Matlock, Maddie Crawford, Grace Shepherd, and Sloane Kerr each had an assist. 

Loyola Lady Flyers (14-5-3) will hosts Acadiana Renaissance Charter (15-7-1) at 4 pm at Messmer Stadium.  

No. 14 Calvary 2, No. 19 Metairie Park Country Day 0

The Lady Cavaliers had not won a playoff match since 2014 when they defeated Benton 2-1 in the Division II playoffs.  That streak is now over as the Lady Cavs knocked out Metairie Park Country Day behind two goals from Jaeden Lee.  Megan McDowell gained the assists.   

Calvary (10-6-1) will have to go on the road to take on No. 3 Isidore Newman (13-4-2) in the second round

BOYS

No. 6  Loyola 5, No. 27 Westminster Christian 0

The Flyers (15-5-2) fueled by a hat trick from Graham Kyle advanced to the second round with a shutout of Westminster Christian (3-12-1) at Messmer field.  Freshmen Holt Hamilton and Aaron Gonzalez also added goals for the win.   

Loyola will host Ouachita Christian (12-4-1) on Wednesday night at 7 pm at Messmer field.  

No. 18 Calvary 3, No. 15 Rapides 1

Calvary (10-6-1) pulled the slight upset on the road with a 3-1 win over Rapides (10-5-2).  Ty Knight popped two goal for the Cavaliers in the win.   Eli Stuart captured the other goal.    Cole Miller was credited with two assists.  Davis Merry also gained an assists.

Calvary will get a home matchup after the upset win and host No. 2 Episcopal of Acadiana (14-1-4) on Wednesday night at Jerry Barker Stadium at 6 pm.  

No. 1 Holy Savior Menard 8, No. 32 North Caddo 0

The North Caddo Titans  grabbed the last run of the 32-team field and had to travel to Alexandria and face the top-seeded Holy Savior Menard squad.   The Eagles were a little much for the Titans advancing on the 8-0 win.
