West Monroe Tri-Meet (12/15/2023)

The Cedar Creek Powerlifting squads kicked off their powerlifting season with the West Monroe Tri-Meet with West Monroe and Ruston.  

 The Lady Cougars captured the top prize in 6 weight classes and finished second in two.  First-place finishers were Allie Claire Johnson (97), Emma Moore (123), Rosemary Sewell (148), Lauren Enterkin (165), Ashlyn Bourn (175), and Kate Harris (198).  Runner-ups were Gia Fernandez (198) and Avery Bourn (220).  Ashlyn Bourn had the top squat (395 lbs), deadlift (385 lbs), and total weight (950 lbs).  Lauren Enterkin had the top bench (235lbs)

The Cougars lift team captured 5 first places and one, third place.   Asa Singleton (108), Josh Robbins (165), Carter Lewis (181), and Chandler Bullock (275) all captured gold.  Aidan Crosby (148) finished in third. 

Billy Jack Talton Meet (1/6/2024)

Both Cedar Creek boys and girls along with the Haynesville girls competed in West Monroe.  Other schools competing were West Monroe, Ruston, Pineville, Ouachita, D’Arbonne Woods, and Caldwell

Cedar Creek Cougars and Lady Cougars brought medals back to Ruston.   Ainsley Riley (148) won her weight class lifting 355 in squat, 205 in bench, and 320 in deadlift for a total of 880 lbs.   Elli Dickerson (148) finished second behind Riley.  Olivia Salts (168) finished as runner-up.  Olivia Salter grabbed third in the 165 weight class. 

Wyatt Gremilion(165) took second for the Cougars. Aidan Woods took third place in the 220-weight class. 

Red Devil Classic (1/6/2024)

The defending state champions Many Tigers kicked off the season in Pickering at the Red Devil Classic. 

The Tigers won two weight classes.  Demario Woods won the 114 weight class lifting 305 in squat, 140 in bench, and 405 in deadlift for a total of 850 lbs.  Hunter Goodman won the 181 weight class lifting 450 in squat, 295 on bench, and 480 on deadlift for a total of 1225 lbs.   Runner-ups were Jeremiah Williams (123) and Jaikaylon Remedies (148).  Ruston Morales (148) and Noah Mitchell (165) finished in third place in their respective weight classes.  

Lauren Isglitt was the only Lady Tiger to medal as she placed runner-up in the 148 class.

Sacred Heart Invitational (Girls) (1/6/2024)

St. Mary’s Lady Tiger Alyssa Brewton traveled down south and brought back a third-place medal in the 148 class. 

Calvary Invitational (1/13/2024)

The new powerlifting team, Loyola Flyers, along with Calvary and Castor put lifters on the podium at Calvary Baptist in Shreveport.  

Loyola had two runner-ups in Hugh Herzong (123) and John Hinrichsen (132).

Calvary’s Collier Head captured bronze in the 132-weight class. 

Castor junior Landon Perry took third place in the SHW class. 

Calvary’s Ryleigh Hogan finished as runner-up in the 165 class.  

Joey Chustz Invitational (1/20/2024)

The Cedar Creek Lady Cougars continued on their path to preparing for the state meet in March as they traveled to Denham Springs to compete at the 7th Annual Joey Chustz Invitational.  The Lady Cougars captured five first places, three runner-ups, and three, third-place finishes.  

Emma Moore (123) captured her second gold of the season.  Moore lifted 295 lbs on the squat, 175 on the bench, and 320 on the deadlift for a total of 790.  Ainsley Riley took gold back to Ruston winning the 148 weight class lifting 340 on squat, 210 on bench, and 330 on deadlift for a total of 880 lbs.  Lauren Enterkin took top honors in the 165 weight class with a 355 squat, 240 bench, and 345 deadlift for a total of 940.  Ashley Bourn was back on top again in the 181 weight class lifting 395 squat,  215 bench, and 350 dead for a total weight of 960.  Avery Bourn captured the 220 class lifting 420 on squat, 195 bench, and 315 deadlift for a total of 930 lbs.

Cedar Creek also dominated the top lifts in each type.   Avery Bourne had the top squat of all girls with 420 lbs.  Lauren Enterkin took the top bench with 240 lbs.   Ashlyn Bourn shared the top deadlift with Amy Kirk and Aerion Lange of Woodlawn and Mollie Bailey of Holden.  All four lifters successfully had 350 lbs on the deadlift.  Ashley Bourne had sole possession of top total weight with 960 lbs total.  Rosemary Sowell (132), Olivia Salter (165), and Kate Harris (198) all finished as runner-up.  Alli Claire Johnson (97), Elli Dickerson (148), and Gia Fernandez (198) placed third

The Cougars squad didn’t fare too bad either winning three weight classes and adding a third place to the podium.   Blake Wade captured the 132-class crown with a 335 squat, 205 bench, and 340 deadlift for a total of 880 lbs.  Lawson LIllo dominated the 165 class lifting 530 on squat, 385 on bench, and 500 on deadlift for a total of 1415 lbs.  Carter Lewis won the 181 class with a 495 squat, 355 bench, and 515 deadlift for 1365 lbs.   Landon Amidon (220) finished third.  

Lillo had the top squat of the competition with 385 lbs. 

Leesville Meet (1/20/2024)

Many Lady Tigers and St. Mary’s Lady Tigers competed in Leesville.   St. Mary’s had the only medalist of the two schools as Alyssa Brewton (148) finished second. 

The Many Tigers sent five to the podium with a runner-up and four third-place finishes.  Jaikaylon Remedies (148) finish second.  Jeremiah Williams (123), Rustin Morales (148), Noah Mitchell (165), and Bryan Webb (198)  all captured bronze. 

St. Mary’s had two go to the podium as Drake Griffin (220) finished second while Mason Mathis (242) finished third.  

North Desoto Meet Results (1/27/2024)

Many Northwest Louisiana teams got their first taste of the season before the upcoming regionals in a couple of weeks.    Among the local teams competing were Calvary, Castor, Cedar Creek, Haynesville, and St. Mary’s

Castor Tigers and Lady Tigers put five in the top three. Canaan Cook (114) and Landon Perry (SHW) snagged silver medals at the meet for the Tigers’ lift squad.   Rowley Maddox (SHW) took third.   The Lady Tigers went 2-3 in the SHW class with Anaiah Johnson finishing second and Stormy Watson at third. 

Cedar Creek also took medals back to Ruston as Chandler Bullock represented the Cougars with a second-place finish in the 275 class.   Bella Digiovanni (198) and Olivia Ferrell (220) took third-place medals. 

St. Mary’s Mason Mathis won the 242 weight class by lifting 485 on the squat, 280 on the bench, and 480 on the deadlift for a total of 1245.  Caleb White took second place in the 148 class. 

Calvary’s Z’ryan Myles grabbed a runner-up in the 181 class. 

D’Arbonnne Woods Invitational (2/3/24)

The D’Arbonne Woods Invitiation contained some North Central teams to compete in Farmerville including Lakeside, Quitman, Cedar Creek, Haynesville, and Winnfield.  

Cedar Creek once again gave a strong showing with the boys’ side on the D’Arbonne Woods Invitational.  Lawson Lillo won the 165 class lifting 540 on squat, 430 on bench, and 475 on deadlift for  a total of 1445 lbs.  Lawson had the top bench lift in the meet at 430lbs.  Brett Johnson also took top honors in the 198 class getting 500 on squat, 365 on bench, and 450 on deadlift with a total of 1315.  The Cougars had four third place finishes by Wyatt Gremillion (148), Noah Durrett (165), Blake Robinson (242), and Conner Rolen (275).  

Winnfield’s Payton Parker finished third in the 132 class.

On the ladies side, Cedar Creek’s Cathering Williams finished second in the 148 class.   

Haynesville’s Makensie Rupert took third in the 198 class.
