A lot of gyms were quiet late this week. COVID continues to wreak havoc on the schedules throughout the area. Also, with the later start of football with Haynesville, Homer, and Calvary still alive in playoffs some games on Friday night were canceled or pushed off to Saturday.
Doyline Lady Panthers won their first game of the season early Thursday afternoon. Emori Leonard and Layla Baker scored 12 for the Lady Panthers. Unikka Miller bucketed 10.
Summerfield headed to the Alexandria Tournament. The Lady Rebels snuck away with a win over Avoyelles on Thursday
Calvary Cavaliers pushed their game against 4A BTW Lions to Saturday afternoon to not compete with the football team’s semifinal home playoff game. Didn’t halt the Cavs to get the win. Labree Williams got a triple-double with 12 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Daniel Ortiz dropped 20 point along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Ben Ponder powered to the goal with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Martin McDowell reached double digits with 12 points. Will Bagley gained 5 points and 6 assists in the win.
