The Providence Knights are well aware of what Willie Nelson sang “On The Road Again..” The Knights have not had a home game since the middle of November. You can’t blame Coach Jeff Schuler with the schedule. The Knights had a game against Northside Christian canceled due to sickness on the opponent’s part. This made it four straight games for the Knight on the road with a mixed bag of results.

The Providence Knights got to show off their skills on the home court on Friday night against the NE Baptist Knights with the 62-38 win.
Providence jumped out early with a 16-3 first-quarter lead backed by threes by Jordan Orr and Jonah Droddy.

Backed by Griggs 9 points kept NE Baptist close and held Providence from extending too far of a lead. Providence Knight finished 28-14.

Griggs continued to try to bring NE Baptist back into the matchup but Providence had too many weapons to get back into the game. By the end of the third quarter, Jonah Droddy had already piled on 11 points. Cole Thornton and Sage Belean had netted 10 each.

Providence offense exploded in the final frame with 22 points. Grant Gordon bucketed 10 points in the final quarter. NE Baptist was only able to score 9 points.

Providence spread the points around for the night. Jonah Droddy was the top scorer at 13 points. Cole Thornton and Sage Belean each contributed 12. Grant Gordon finished with 10 points which were all scored in the final quarter.

Griggs led NE Baptist with 31 points.

The Providence Knights were bitten by the cancellation bug once again as Bloomburg, Texas game was canceled on Monday night. The Knight will get some rest over the Christmas break and will be at home against Louisiana School Math Science and Arts on January 7
