The local men’s college teams decided to take on some local D1 teams in some exhibition games. Centenary traveled to Monroe to face Sun Belt Conference team ULM Warhawks. LSUS took on Conference USA for the University of North Texas in Denton Texas last Saturday.
Southern-Shreveport (2-7) fell to Holmes College on Tuesday night. Devonte Snow led the Jags with 27 points. Kashie Natt crashed the boards for 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Centenary (4-3) Gents stayed busy last week with three games finishing 1-2 for the week. They opened the week on Tuesday with a close 67-62 win over Millsaps at home. Jarrell Taylor finished with 14 points for the Gents. Seth Thomas led the rebounding with 8. The next day they traveled to Monroe to face the D1 Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and fell 104-67. Jalen Behr netted 19 points for Centenary. Ralph Johnson also reached double digits with 15 points. They closed out the week on Saturday with a close loss to Texas College. Jarrell Taylor had another strong game finishing with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Braeden Board scored 13.
BPCC (5-4, 1-1) started conference play last Wednesday night with a road game in Baytown, TX against the Lee College Rebels. The Cavaliers put four in double digits despite the 86-73 loss. Jeremy Richard led the Cavs with 15 points. Derick Hamilton added 14 points. Adrian Walker netted 12 points along with 7 assists. Eric McKnight rounded out the double-digit scorer with 10. The Cavaliers bounced back on Saturday with a 23 point win over Jacksonville College at home. Christian Caldwell pulled a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The top scorer for BPCC was Jaeden Marshall with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
LSUS Pilots (4-4) took a little time off with the Thanksgiving break but started back with an exhibition game against North Texas in Denton, TX. Hunter Royce led the Pilots with 11 points. Kevin Norman led the rebounding with 6. Jeff Boyd grabbed 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the North Texas game.
