Turkey Week saw a light week of action for three of the four local women’s college teams in the area.   LSUS (4-6) took the week off after their Florida travels the week before.   SUSLA (2-6) lost a close game early last week in Jacksonville, TX against Jacksonville College Lady Jaguars.  

BPCC (5-3) split at the Trinity Valley Classic in Athen, TX on Black Friday and last Satuday.  The Lady Cavaliers took on Ranger College and came up short.  Makaila Lewis finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the game.   DaNae Williams and Jermia Green crashed the boards for six and five rebounds, respectively.   Raven Johnson also added 5 rebound fo rht eh Lady Cavs.  BPCC had a better showing on Saturday against Columbia State CC.  Lewis took a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds for the game.  Aaliyah Stevenson scored 14 points.  DaNae Williams had a strong 13 points.   Faith Robinson added 11 points and 5 rebounds.  Robinson also had a team leading 6 assists for the weekend.  

Centenary (1-6) got a full helping of Division I women’s basketball with exhibition games against ULM and McNeese St.  The Ladies had some lofty losses for the week but were tested with the two D1 schools.  Addy Tremie was the top scorer in the ULM game with 9 points.   Alana Jones and Amelia Bagwell each stuffed 6 rebounds in the loss to the Lady Warhawks.   Jazzmyn Jones reached double figures in the game against McNeese St with 12 points.   Alana Jones had another good rebounding night with 9 rebounds.  Mary Leday snagged 6 rebounds for the Ladies.   The final game of the week had the road warrior Centenary Ladies fall to Ozarks (Arkansas) .  Minden’s Destini Powell bucketed 26 points and 8 rebounds.  Jazzmyn Jones had another good night with 12 points and 6 rebounds.  Addy Tremie nailed 11 points and 8 rebounds.  Alana Jones took 6 rebounds  for the Ladies.  

Light slate of games for next week.  Only four games by all four teams next week.  SUSLA will head to Angelina College on Tuesday.   LSUS, and BPCC will all play on Saturday.  Centenary has two with Hendrix on Sunday and another on Saturday.
