Blue Goose had a final home game for over a month as they faced first-place Texas United. Texas United started early as Malik Henry-Scott as he netted the first goal in the 19th minute. Blue Goose was charged with their first card as Marcus Gibson was given a yellow in the 20th minute. Alexander Estrada-Avilla added another United goal in the 33rd minute. Joshua Hallenberger pushed Texas United’s lead to 3-0 in the 39th minute. Nightmare occurred for Blue Goose as Gibson was given his second yellow card converted to a red. Blue Goose would have to play with 10 men for the remainder of the game. Texas United would take a 3-0 lead into halftime. United piled the goals on in the second half. Malik Henry-Scott completed his hat trick plus one in the second half (59’, 60’, 93’). Seth Mahlmeister (56’, 94’) had two goals for Texas United. Terence Omeguate (46’), Jon Jordan (84’), and Felipe Medina (85’) all contributed goals.

Blue Goose will take a week off from USL2 action and play a friendly against Barksdale FC at Airline High School on Saturday, June 17. The Blue Goose team will return to USL2 action on the road in Baton Rouge against LA Parish on June 24.

The Shreveport United Men came up short on the road against Strikerz DFW with a 2-1 decision. The lone goal was by Gabriel Rodriguez. Shreveport United men will return home this weekend to Messmer Field where they will face the undefeated Central Texas Lobos on Saturday at 4 pm. They will be the first part of a doubleheader with the Shreveport United women who take on Cajun Rush at 7:00 pm in a crucial match with playoff ramifications. Also, the Shreveport United Women will double up this week with a match against Central Louisiana FC on the road on Wednesday night.
