DOYLINE – The Zwolle Lady Hawks jumped out to an early lead and held on for the 62-46 win over the Doyline Lady Panthers on Tuesday night.   Zwolle was led by K. Ethridge who bucketed four 3-pointers to score 18 points for the Lady Hawks.  The Lady Hawks spread the scoring around as S. Robertson and S. Carhoe each scored 13 to add for the win.

The Lady Hawks had to fend off against Emari Leonard who popped seven3-pointers on the way to her 24 point performance.

Zwolle started off fast with the full court press and had the Lady Panthers down 12-0 before they knew it.  Zwolle continued its offensive attack piling on to 19-1 before Leonard scored her first three of the night.  Zwolle took a commanding 22-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Zwolle went on an 8-0 run to get as large as a 22-point lead on Doyline.   Coach Normand called a timeout and it seemed to help Doyline as it closed out with a 5-0 run to be down 34-18 at halftime.

Despite Leonard’s 11 points in the final frame, the starting deficit was too much to overcome as the Lady Hawks won 62-46.

Zwolle will head back farther north next Monday as they will head to Summerfield.   Doyline will head east to compete in the Choudrant Tournament.
