The volleyball season is closing in on district play now. Calvary currently sits at top of Division IV District 1 with a 2-0 record. Loyola is half a game back at 1-0. Many and Mansfield are tied for third with no district games yet. North Caddo is in fifth at 0-1. Red River is last at 0-2. Magnolia SOE currently is in last place in Division V District 1.
Playoffs will be announced on Halloween. With that deadline looming, power rankings are being watched. One source of concern for some local teams reaching the 20-game deadline. Calvary and Loyola have already achieved that goal and will not have their seeding. North Caddo is three games away as of Sunday. Many and Red River can make this achievable. Magnolia and Mansfield only have 10 matches on the LHSAA schedule. If the team does not make it to the 20-game minimum, they will not be eliminated but will be seeded lower than any team who made the 20-game minimum. They will be seeded separately.
Taking a look at the power rankings. Calvary currently sits at No. 4 this week dropping one spot. Loyola is still hoping for a first-round home match at No. 13. Many is on the edge currently for a home first-round. Red River and North Caddo are in the 32-team field but probably on the road in the first round. Mansfield and Magnolia SOE are on the outside looking in for their respective divisions.
