UTRNWLA Week 7 and 8 High Softball Report

The regular season is over and the last gasp for power ranking points was played out over the week.  Playoff brackets will be released this week.  We’ve got our last UTRNWLA High School softball report of the year, though.  The last week is only three days so we combined Week 7 and Week 8 to get our four lists of top players.  

Zwolle piled on the games for the closing days and went 5-1 and placed three in the Hot 9 Performances.  Kourtney Sepulvado double-dipped for the week in both the Hot 9 batting .500 and getting two triples and also made the Hot 3 pitching list.   Emery Craig also had a Hot 9 performing week going 9 for 17 including three doubles, a triple, and an area-leading 13 RBIs.  Addison Burr put in another stellar performance including three doubles, a triple, and a home run for the Lady Hawks. 

The mainstay of each Hot 9 performance has been the Quitman squad.  Cali Deal continues week after week with being one of the top 18 performances and making the Hot 9 and Next 9.   This week was no different as accumulated 9 for 14 including four doubles, two home runs, and 8 RBIs.   Joining Deal in the Hot 9 this week is Madison Chaplin.  Chaplin batted 8 for 13 including two doubles, a triple, a homer, and 5 RBIs.  Another mainstay from the Lady Wolverines has been Maggie Guyotte who made the Next 3 list in pitching this week. 

The Lakeside Lady Warriors end the season strong placing three in the Hot 9 and Next 9 and adding a pitcher to the Top 3.   Hallie Sutton sent the Lady Warriors into the second season with a Hot 9 batting performance of 8 for 13 with a double, triple, home run, and 6 RBIs.  McKenna Chreene was the second player to double-dip in both the batting and pitching list.   Chreene made the Next 9 list and had a Top 3 pitching performance tossing 29 strikeouts over the last week and a half.  Raleah Harris batting .500 and 8 RBIs were enough to make the Next 9 list for the Lady Warriors.
