The Shreveport United men pulled closer to a second consecutive year of making the playoffs with a 2-0 win over Cajun Rush last Saturday. United pulled into a tie for first place with the Lafayette-based Cajun Rush for the day on Saturday. Cajun Rush moved back into sole first place with a 3-3 tie with Alexandria PBFC. United men have two games less than Cajun Rush.
United’s Hector Hernandez scored both goals in the home win. Tom Cobham received an assist on one of the two goals.
The win and two goals by Hernandez gave him his second Team of the Week honors in the GCPL. Hernandez grabbed the award on Matchday 4. Gary McCormick also received the honor for Matchday 7.
Shreveport can clinch a playoff spot with a road win over Alexandria PBFC at Louisiana Christian College on Saturday, June 25.
