The regular season for the Gulf Coast Premier League has finished for both Shrevport United teams last Saturday.  Shreveport United Women lost 3-0 in their final game of the season to Hattiesburg FC on the road.   Shreveport United Men finished their regular season undefeated with a 5-3 win over the Central Texas Lobos at Loyola’s Messmer Stadium.

Shreveport United Women

Shreveport United Women finished their inaugural season with 3-0 loss to Hattiesburg on the road.  They finished in sixth place in the nine team field with a 3-5-0 record.  The schedule worked out that the beginning of the season was top heavy with home games.  The ladies struggled at Messmer finishing 1-3-0 for the season.  The one win though was the only loss for Cajun Rush for the season.  The United women made a strong push for a playoff spot.  The 5-2 loss to Baton Rouge United ended the chance.

Shreveport United Men

Last year was the first time that Shreveport United men had qualified for the  GCPL playoffs.  United topped that accomplishment and added some hardware to the cabinet.  The United men finished undefeated 7-0-1.  The only tie came at the hands of a 2-2 tie to Cajun Rush.  They also captured their first Western Conference regular season title.  United will enter the playoffs as the overall

No. 1 seed and start the run on July 23 at Messmer Field against the lower seed of the quarterfinal winners.  The quarterfinals start on July 16 with No. 4 Hattiesburg FC hosting No. 5 Cajun Rush.  Also, No. 3 Gaffa FC will host No. Central Texas Lobos.
