The LSUS Men’s soccer season came to an end on Thursday afternoon after a 1-0 loss to No. 1 seed in the RRAC, Houston-Victoria Jaguars (14-2-1).   LSUS season end with at 12-7-1 and before the loss was on an eight-game streak without a loss.   The shutout also ended a streak of 12 matches where the Pilots had at least scored one goal.  

The Pilots fell victim to the referee whistle as they were called for five fouls in the first 15 minutes of the first half.  The Jaguars were also charged with three fouls and picked up a yellow card in the 12th minute.   LSUS could get their first shot until the 27th minute where Adam Gonzales’s shot went high.   UHV continued the aggressive play picking up another six fouls in the next 15 minutes.   Gonzales took a shot on target in the 37th minute.  The two teams were scoreless in the first half.  UHV outshot LSUS 3 to 2.  The foul count, though, was UHV 12  to LSUS 6 in the first half alone. 

 The fouls kept coming in the second half but then started to become costly.    UHV came out with two fouls.  LSUS Gonzales took his third shot of the match but went high.  The Jaguars took back-to-back corners, but LSUS committed a handball foul bringing on a penalty kick for UHV.  Adrian Rodriguez scored on the penalty kick to give the No. 1 seed a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute.   UHV was then charged with two yellow cards, one directed at the head coach in the 62nd minute.    UHV would collect two more yellows in the remainder of the match.  Shots by Julius Williams and Abdoul Karim Pare were unable to tie the match as LSUS’s season ended.  

Houston-Victoria and LSUS tied with six shots apiece.  The two teams combined for 30 fouls with UHV charged with 21 of them.  

Adam Gonzales took 3 shots for the Pilots.  Julius Williams received two opportunities.  Abdoul Karim Pare got one shot.  Max Rose saved 2 shots.
