Bluegoose FC made some noise in their inaugural match against Little Rock Rangers with a 3-0 win last Friday night at Mayo Field at Centenary College.   Bluegoose FC is the second iteration of a soccer team from owner Will Broyles.  Broiled originally brought the Shreveport Rafters to town in 2016.  Broyles sold the team to Montgomery Cole later.  The USL2, formerly known as the Premier Development League, was formed in 1995.   Bluegoose will play in Southern Conference in the Mid South Division along with Little Rock Ranger (Little Rock), LA Krewe (Lafayette), LA Parish (Baton Rouge), and Mississippi Brilla FC (Clinton), and Texas United (Dallas). 

In front of a packed crowd at Mayo field, Bluegoose scored two quick goals in the first half to take the early 2-0 lead.   

The backline kept possession for. Lñ the remainder of the half and kept the ball midfield until halftime.   

The second half saw the Rangers take an aggressive offense and keep the ball in their third the majority of the second half but a slip in the Little Rock backline let Goosers sneak in a third goal for the match.  

Juri Slingmann only had 18 minutes of playing time but netted a goal and an assist.  Guilherme Bittencourt and Adam Morris also scored goals.  Nicholas the verge and Geraldo Martinez we’re credited each with an assist.  

Goalkeeper Brett Ekperouh collected he clean sheet and had eight saves in the win.  

Blue Goose FC will have another home matchup at Mayo Field on Saturday, May 21 at 7 pm.   The Goosers will face the current first place team Texas United.   As a promotion, the first 100 fans will get a free scarf.
