The historic season for Shreveport United came to an end in Daphne, Alabama on Saturday evening with a 4-2 loss to Gulf Coast Rangers.  The quarterfinal matchup was the first playoff appearance for United.  The two teams did not make it a quiet night as nine yellow cards were dealt between the two teams.   

The Rangers got the first yellow. card for the night as Ismael Castillo collected the first with unsporting behavior in the 30th minute.   Ronald Fortune put the first ball in the net in the 39th minute to give Gulf Coast Rangers the 1-0 lead.   A little heat ended the first half for the Rangers as Fortune picked up a yellow card in the final minutes with his Rangers taking the 1-0 lead into halftime.  

Both teams made changes to kick off the first half.   Castillo exited the match for Jeb Scarborough to come in for Gulf Coast.  Shreveport United subbed in Thomas Sanford for Hunter Brown.   Fortune struck again in the 54th minute which kicked off a flurry of action and a 2-0 lead.  The rule of thumb of giving up a goal is more than likely going to happen right after another goal.  Sean French netted a goal the next minute to give Shreveport United the first goal and close the gap to 2-1.   Eddie Dawka for Gulf Coast gained the third yellow card for his team.   Shreveport United had gotten too close for Ranger’s comfort.   Calum Kearney scored in the 59th minute to give back a two-goal lead for Gulf Coast Rangers.    Kearney added another goal in the 70th minute and a 4-1 lead.   Changes started coming for both teams.  Shreveport United brought in Nick Flowers for Adam Bihler in the 72nd minute.   Gulf Coast Rangers subbed in Matthew Morgan and Colin Spuler the next minute.  Looking for a second wind for Shreveport United,  Steven Bush popped the back of the net in the 75th minute to the 4-2 lead.  Frustration grew for United and yellow cards flew.  Gary McCormick received the first in the 77th minute.  Thomas Sanford picked up another one in the 80th minute.   Gulf Coast brought in one set of fresh legs to hold on to the lead in the 89th minute as Caleb Adas entered the pitch.   The action continued to be aggressive to the final minutes as Carlos Martinez for United and Noah Miller for Gulf Coast.   Gulf Coast held on to advance to the semi-finals. 

Shreveport United finished their season with the club best at 6-3-2.   United also placed a two-goal scorer in the top ten for the season.  Steven Bush finished with nine goals.  Adam Bihler completed the season with four.
