The BPCC Cavaliers and Lady Cavs are getting national recognition in the realm of junior college sports.   Uchenna Jong Loy received first-team All-American accolades for softball.  Dezmand Bryant becomes the first BPCC Cavalier track and field athlete to reach All-American status.

Bryant, a native from Coushatta, reached the NJCAA Division I National Championships with a qualifying time of 48.10 in the 400-meter dash at the Dan Veach Invitationals at Southern Arkansas University back in March 2021.  Bryant traveled to South Plain College in  Levelland, Texas.   The BPCC sprinter took the field by storm finishing first in the thirty-plus qualifying field with a time of 47.64.   Bryant finished sixth in the finals with a time of 47.52.

The Amsterdam, Holland export Uchenna Jong Loy continued to pile on honors with her historic sophomore year in softball as a Lady Cavalier.  The sophomore for the Lady Cavaliers gained top honors as the NCAA Region XIV Player of the Year.  Loy led Region XIV with the .521 batting average, 84 RBIs, and 27 home runs.   She also led overall Region XIV in at-bats (169), runs (70), hits (88), doubles (18), total bases, on-base percentage (.581), and an impressive 1.107 slugging percentage.  Loy also broke the BPCC record for highest batting average and tied the record for most hits with Elisa Favela in 2018.   Nationally, the BPCC Lady Cavalier finished third in home runs in all of NJCAA Division I,  sixth in RBIs, and sixth in slugging percentage, third in total bases, and fourth in extra-base hits.  Loy also was the Region XIV East Conference Co-Player of the year along with  Loy grabbed NJCAA Division I Softball All-American honors.   Loy becomes the third BPCC softball star to make All-American along with Shannon Miles and Chelsea Fagan
