Each of the colleges is in the depths of their conference schedules. BPCC Men knocked down to two of three for last week. LSUS became giant killers again knocking off a ranked Xavier (LA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women\u2019s programs had a late-week starting on Wednesday. BPCC and LSUS split games. BPCC\u2019s Faith Robinson pulled a triple-double against Paris JC late in the week. Here\u2019s a recap of last week\u2019s action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Men<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n BPCC (11-8, 5-5) broke the clock on a 110-53 win over the Northwestern St. JV squad. Eight Cavaliers scored double digits. Derrick Hamilton and Kamryn Guidry each had a double-double. Hamilton scored 12 points and 10 rebounds. Guidry bucketed 10 and grabbed 10 rebounds along with 5 blocks. The top scorer for the Cavs was Christian Caldwell with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Kendrick Delahoussaye netted 12 points and 7 assists. Eric McKnight also scored 12. Adrian Walker scored 11 along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Jaeden Marshall bucketed 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Rodrell Dryden added 10 points and 5 assists. Jeremy Richard helped with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. The Cavs added another win on Wednesday night with a 77-64 over the Paris JC Dragons. Walker was the top scorer with 17 points and 5 assists. Richard scored 16 and 5 rebounds. Marshall scored three 3-pointers for his 14 points and 5 rebounds. Eric McKnight added 12 along with 6 rebounds. Hamilton snagged 5 defensive rebounds and 7 overall. Delahoussaye took 5 rebounds. Caldwell gained 6 rebounds. BPCC couldn\u2019t overcome the 22-point halftime lead and fell on Saturday to the Trinity Valley CC Cardinals 87-72. Top 50 JUCO freshman Jaeden Marshall compiled 25 points and 7 rebounds (6 defensive). Delahoussaye bucketed 12 points and added 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Caldwell shot 6 for 7 from the field and netted 14 points. Da\u2019Reion Jones snatched 5 rebounds. Adrian Walker added 5 rebounds and 5 assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LSUS (11-6, 4-1) fell victim to a 12-0 run behind two threes from Elijah Durham and four points from Jordan Mitchell in the first half to push the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles. A late second-half 8-1 run gave LSUS their first conference loss with a final of 75-59. Royce Hunter was the top scorer for the Pilots with 20 points along with 7 rebounds. Jeff Boyd netted 12 and grabbed 5 rebounds. Kevin Norman was the defensive beast for the Pilots with 8 defensive rebounds and 9 overall. Akeem White also grabbed 8 rebounds. The Pilots bounced back Thursday evening with a 79-74 win over Louisiana Christian. The Pilots had to overcome an 11-point deficit. LSUS shot an impressive 22 of 31 from the field in the 2nd half. An 11-2 run exploded from threes from Royce Hunter, Trey Johnson, and Jeff Boyd pushed the game to a 64-64 tie with 6:38 remaining. LSUS took their first lead with another small run led by Kevin Norman. Ferontay Banks three with 4:29 left closed the gap to 71-70 in factor of the Pilots. The Pilots held back LC for the win. Jeff Boyd led the Pilots with 21 points. Royce Hunter bucketed 19 and 9 defensive rebounds. Akeem White scored 12 and had 7 rebounds. Kevin Norman added 11 points and 6 rebounds. LSUS finished the week knocking off No. 19 Xavier (LA) Gold 70-60 at The Dock. LSUS broke out an 11-2 run late in the first half to push a 31-20 lead at halftime. The Pilots pushed the lead to 15 in the first 6 minutes of the second half. With a little less than 8 minutes remaining, the Gold had closed the gap to 5 behind a 7-2 run. The Pilots went on a late 10-1 run to close the game and get the upset win. Leondre Washington scored 20. Boyd had another double-digit performance with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Royce Hunter popped 12 points. Quentin Jones added 10. Akeem White and Kevin Norman crashed the boards for 8 rebounds each. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Centenary (8-7, 3-4) lone game was on the road at Austin College where they fell 81-78. The Gents had as much as a 10-point lead in the first half. Centenary had a 42-32 lead at halftime. A six-minute scoring drought by the Gents gave the Roos an opportunity for a 20-2 run and the 54-47 lead. With 1:15 remaining, Austin College had jumped out to a 79-69 lead. AJ Hall started the scoring drive with a layup and drew the foul. Hall scored the free throw to close to 79-72. Centenary calls a full timeout after a turnover. Syied Dyer buries a three to close to 79-75 with 35 seconds. More missed free throws as Jarrell Taylor grabs the defensive rebound. AJ Hall nails another three to push to 79-78 with 27 seconds. A foul gives Jackson Renee two free throws points. Hall tried another three with 7 seconds. More missed free throws by the Roos. Jarrell Taylor grabs the rebound and passes to Coby Harris who misses the three with no time remaining and Centenary falls 81-78. Braeden Board of the Gents with 23 points. AJ Hall finished with 19 points. Seth Thomas snagged 10 points along with 7 rebounds. Kile Mingo led rebounding with 8. Taylor had 5 defensive rebounds with 6 total. Joseph Wiggins and Jalen Behr each had 5 rebounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Women<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n BPCC (10-8, 3-5) Lady Cavaliers split the week with a loss to Kilgore College but bounced back with a win over Paris JC. Kilgore ran away with the matchup with a big 25-9 second quarter which sent the game into a 49-25 lead at halftime. BPCC closed within 63-61 at the end of the third with a 26-14 quarter. Kilgore finished strong to take the win. Ma\u2019Kaila Lewis took a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Faith Robinson netted 20 and 9 rebounds. Jermia Green scored 11. BPCC snapped back as they held back a comeback against the Paris Junior College Lady Dragons with the 77-75 home win. A strong 26-10 second quarter for the Lady Cavs gave them a 12-point halftime lead that Paris JC couldn’t overcome. Faith Robinson earned her first triple-double of her college career with 17 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. Ma\u2019Kayla Lewis made it back to back double-doubles with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Sha\u2019Nia Davis netted 14 points. Aaliyah Stevenson bucketed 10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n LSUS (9-8, 4-1) split the week with back-to-back home games. Louisiana Christian took a slight 13-12 lead after the first quarter, but the Lady Pilots roared back in the second and third quarters to open a 56-32 lead heading into the final period. The Lady Tiger closed the gap some but LSUS took the 73-56 win. DeAuja Thompson was the top scorer with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Kiara Collins added 16 points. Tatym Barnes and Ciera Daniels each had 11 points and 6 rebounds. The conference win streak come to an end on Saturday as the Lady Pilots fell to Xavier (LA) 59-54. Kiara Collins led the Lady Pilots with 15 points. Camera Daniels bucketed 14 and added 7 rebounds. DeAuja Thompson netted 12. Angel Reese and Tatym Barnes each snagged 6 rebounds. Chelsey White grabbed 5 rebounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Centenary (3-12, 1-6) Ladies dropped their sixth consecutive game as they fell to Austin 75-39. Destini Powell led the Ladies with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Jazzmyn Jones bucketed 10. Sulphur, LA native Addy Tremie snagged 10 rebounds.
