Men\u2019s Basketball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The LSUS Pilots (5-5) had a tall order in challenging the No. 2 Loyola University Wolfpack on Thursday night. Leondre Washington was the top scorer with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Royce Hunter netted 18 and grabbed 5 rebounds. Jeff Boyd scored 16 points and had 9 rebounds. LSUS held the lead for the first seven minutes as they held a 14-8 lead. Loyola went on a 22-3 run to take over the lead at 30-17. The Wolfpack nailed three 3-pointers in the run. LSUS closed the gap in the final two minutes of the first half with an 8-0 run to be down only by four at 39-35. In the second half, Loyola pushed by Andrew Fava on another 8-0 run to push their lead to 13 at 54-41. LSUS would close the gap to five only to have the Wolfpack roar back to a ten-point lead. Earlier in the week on Monday, LSUS piled on 121 points against Southeastern Baptist College. The Pilots had three 20-plus point scorers. Akeem White scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. Kevin Norman bucketed 26 points and 6 rebounds. Jeff Boyd scored 20 and grabbed 6 boards. Quentin Jones scored 16 points and 6 rebounds Leondre Washington had 11 points. Kelvin Henry, Jr. grabbed 5 rebounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n BPCC (6-5, 2-2, 2-0) Cavaliers split conference games last week with a conference loss to Blinn College but a conference and division win over Angelina College. BPCC moved to 2-0 in their division. Wednesday night they had a heartbreaking 3 point loss to Blinn College. BPCC had a 37-31 lead at halftime. Jaeden Marshall led the Cavs for 28 points and 5 rebounds. Kendrick Delahoussaye netted 15 points and 6 assists. Pushing the Cavs in support were Derrick Hamilton with 7 rebounds, Adrian Walker with 5 rebounds and 5 assists, and Kamryn Guidry with 5 rebounds. The Cavaliers bounced back with a home win over the Angelina Roadrunners. Once again a Jaeden Marshall led the Cavaliers in scoring with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Kendrick Delahoussaye pocketed 14 points and 5 rebounds. Eric McKnight scored 10 points. Jeremy Richard and Da\u2019Reion Jones each had 5 rebounds. Adrian Walker helped with 5 assists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Centenary Gents (4-4, 0-1) dropped its first conference game last Wednesday on the road to the University of Dallas. Centenary had a slight 16-15 lead over the Crusaders halfway through the first half. Dallas went on a 19-1 run to take command at 34-17. The Gents went on a closing 9-0 run to come with 34-26 at halftime. Dallas opened with an 8-0 run to push the lead to 13 points. Centenary could not close the gap to below 10 points until 13 minutes in the half. With 1:07 remaining and Dallas having a 76-65 lead, Tevin Baker nails a 3-pointer. Dallas missed their next shot and Antonio Cormier grabbed the defensive rebound. Seth Thomas shot the three but missed. Baker grabbed the rebound and made the layup to close with 6 with 38 seconds remaining. Dallas calls timeout. Baker makes the steal but missed the jump shot. Baker draws the foul and sends Marcus Juarez to the line. Juarez missed both free throws. Jarrell Taylor rebounds and is fouled. Taylor made one of two free throws closing the gap to 5 points. Centenary is forcing free throws and Dallas cannot convert to points. Dallas hits one with 24 seconds to push back to a 77-71 lead. AJ Hall buries a 3-point shot with 20 seconds left to close within three at 77-74. More forced fouling allows Dallas to score to 79-74. Drew Young scores a layup with 3 seconds left to go 79-76. A final foul by Young gives Louis Christifano two shots with 2 seconds left. The two free throws put the game out of reach for the Gents. Jarrell Taylor finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds which were all defensive rebounds. AJ Hall bucketed 14 points. Ralph Johnson helped with 12 assists and 6 rebounds. Drew Young snatched 5 rebounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Southern-Shreveport (3-10) dropped both games last week against Copiah-Lincoln and National Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Women\u2019s Basketball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Centenary Ladies (3-6, 1-0) took their first conference win over the University of Dallas Lady Crusaders last Wednesday night. Centenary and Dallas stayed within no more than two points the entire fourth quarter. Dallas had a 56-54 lead with 1:07 remaining. Destini Powell bucketed a three-pointer with 51 seconds remaining to take the 57-56 lead. Dallas fouls Powell. Powell makes one of two of her free throws as the lead is pushed to 58-56. Jazzmyn Jones was then fouled and made one of two free throws at 59-56 with 15 seconds remaining. Addy Tremie is then fouled with 12 seconds. Tremie makes one of two to look to lock up the game with a four-point lead. Adryan Alvarez nails a three for the Crusaders cutting it to 60-59 with 7 seconds remaining. Jazzmyn Jones scores with two seconds left to give the Ladies the 62-59 win. Destini Powell finished with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Alana Jones added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Mary Leday bucketed 12 and 5 rebounds. Addy Tremie and Jazzmyn Jones were rebounding juggernauts with 12 and 8, respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n BPCC (6-5, 0-2, 0-1) split the week last week with a conference loss to Trinity Valley CC, but a home win against 903 Elite. Faith Robinson snatched 12 rebounds against Trinity Valley. Jermia Green grabbed 10 rebounds. DaNae Williams helped with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Saturday home game saw the Lady Cavs get the 54 point win over exhibition team 903 Elite. Faith Robinson had another big game with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Thompson and DaNae Williams each scored 15 points. Ma\u2019Kaila Lewis netted 13. Kasyah Syndor banged the boards for 7 rebounds. Sha\u2019Brenda Ford took 6 rebounds.
