The Plain Dealing Lions rolled with a big district 52-14 win against the Lincoln Prep Panthers at Cedar Creek High School in Ruston last Thursday night. This was the first district win for Plain Dealing’s new head coach Christopher Wilson.
The Lions piled on 541-yard total offense against Lincoln Prep. The ground attack alone racked up 371 rushing yards. Darrien Perry has a collection of stats for the game with 190 yards offense (150 receiving, 36 rushing, and 4 passing). He’s also credited with three touchdowns (2 receiving, 1 passing). Those two receiving touchdowns came from Keionje Perry who passed for 167 yards and three touchdowns. Tre Boyd caught one touchdown and rushed for another. Cedarius Johnson rushed for 82 yards and brought home a pick-six. Ken Blanks and Kevin Little scores a touchdown each.
Lions jumped out to the lead in the second quarter behind a 51-yard touchdown pass from Keionje Perry to Darrien Perry. Keionje Perry broke loose for a 32-yard run. The second quarter nightmare continued for the Panthers as Keionje Perry found Tre Boyd in the end zone with a 10-yard pass. The Lions put in one touchdown before the half to give them the 20-0 halftime lead.
Lions added another touchdown in the second half before the Panthers could score. A 90-yard pass from Keionje Perry to Darrien Perry put a stamp on the win for the Lions. Cedarius took home a pick-six to take the win for Plain Dealing.
The road doesn’t get any easier for the Lincoln Prep Panthers as they will travel to Haynesville. The Plain Dealing Lions will travel to Monroe to take on LHSAA newcomer River Oaks Mustangs.
