The LSUA Generals (1-1-0) suffered its first loss of the season on the road in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to the No. 20 William Carey University Crusaders (2-0-1).  The 2-0  loss is also the first road loss for the Generals this season.   The No.20 team in NAIA outshot the  LSUA Generals 11-2.  Alfie Lee and Frederico Gilardi were the only two Generals to get shots.  None of the shots were considered as shots on goal.  Valeriu Tarlev grabbed two saves for LSUA. 

LSUA players hardly had time to stretch their legs on the pitch before the Crusaders scored.   Joshua Salas with an assist from Rico Duggan scored the first goal in the 2nd minute.  LSUA would not get their first shot until the 29th minute.  Lee’s shot was blocked.  The Crusaders held on for the 1-0 halftime lead.  

William Carey continued to hog possession not allowing LSUA to not shoot again until Gilradi’s shot in the 71st minute.  The shot went high.   Caolmhin McConnell gave the Crusaders the 2-0 lead at the 76th minute.  The Crusader held the lead to the end.  

LSUA will return home on Saturday, August 24 at 1:30 at Generals Soccer Field in Alexandria to  face University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers.  The General are 2-0 against The Drovers since 2021.
