Local Teams Have Big Tournament Weekends

Local teams brought some trophies home after a big tournament weekend around the area. Plain Dealing Lions ran past Lakeside 53-45 in the finals of the Haughton Tournament. Gibsland-Coleman Lady Bulldogs continue to roll with the wins as they won the Bienville Parish Tournament in Saline with the 41-32 win over the Castor Lady Tigers. Arcadia Hornets won the boys tournament in Saline as they beat the Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs 60-47 in the championship. 

Tournament season rolls on through in December as this weekend as Arcadia and Doyline will host. Arcadia’s tournament will feature Arcadia, Gibsland-Coleman, Lincoln Prep, New Living Word (boys only), Plain Dealing (boys only) and Haynesville (girls only). Doyline’s tournament will have Doyline and Ringgold along with a host of other area teams.

Summerfield will travel towards the Texas line as they will compete in the Zwolle Tournament. Calvary and Castor will head east on I-20 to participate in the Cedar Creek Tournament.
