The PCA Knights started district play traveling to Farmerville to take on Union Christian Academy and then turning around on Friday to host Claiborne Academy.

UNION CHRISTIAN ACADEMY LIONS 47, PROVIDENCE CLASSICAL ACADEMY KNIGHTS 34

The Knights got into a three-point showdown at the beginning as Cole Thornton bucketed a first-quarter three. The problem was the Lions scored two of them. The Lions took an early 9-6 lead. Jordan Orr became the scoring machine in the second quarter as he bombed three 3-pointers on his way to 11 point quarter. Union matched the effort of Providence and headed into halftime up 23-19 in the close matchup. Thornton added his second three of the night in the third. The Lion duo scoring machine continued to just outpace the nights. A light fourth quarter as Union pulled away for the win.

Jordan Orr finished with 15 points for the Knights.

PROVIDENCE CLASSICAL ACADEMY KNIGHTS 36, CLAIBORNE ACADEMY REBELS 29

Jordan Orr started the Knights with 5 points in the first quarter as PCA took the early 7-4 lead in the first quarter. Sage Beleau picked up the torch in the second quarter with four points and Charlie Bradshaw added a big three as Providence took a six-point lead into halftime. The Knight went cold in the third as Orr scored the lone field goal in the third and Claiborne took advantage. Gage Burnham pocketed 5 points in the third along with another three-pointer by Cannon Loe as the Rebels were now leading 22-21 heading into the final quarter. Orr and Cole Thornton led the charge in the final quarter with four points each. Claiborne’s basket failed to fall as PCA picked up their first district win of the year.

Jordan Orr bucketed 11 points for the Knights.

Jackson Sharpe was the top scorer for the Rebels with 13 points.

District Play will continue this week as the PCA will travel to Minden to take on Glenbrook and get a rematch against Union Christian Academy on Friday.
