The final games for the girls will start this week and one district title could be in the balance on Thursday night. Haynesville currently has a one game lead over the Lady Pels in District 1-A. A win by the Lady Tors and they will undefeated district champs. A loss and they will share the district title with Homer.
Other action on Friday night, saw the Arcadia Hornets and Lincoln Prep Panthers staying neck and neck for the district championship. This is another district title that could be decided in Arcadia on Friday night as both teams boast 7-1 records in district currently. Arcadia will have to get by Homer tomorrow night and Lincoln Prep will have to defeat Haynesville to make the big showdown a district championship. Both Arcadia and Lincoln Prep will need to keep Calvary in the rearview. Any upset by one or both of these teams and the Cavaliers are back in the hunt.
The Doyline Panthers and Castor Lady Tigers at least clinched a district title share with wins on Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers were in a race with Doyline. Doyline’s loss to Saline gave Castor the sole lead. A win by Doyline over Dodson and a win by Saline over Castor could knot the District 1-B title into a three-way district title. On the boys side, if Doyline makes it 24 in a row, they will have an outright third consecutive district title. A slip up by the Panther and they will have to share the title with the the Dodson Panthers.
