District 1-A Deep Run in Playoffs Payoff with Awards

The deep runs by Haynesville, Homer, and Calvary in the Class A and Divison IV playoffs have gained some attention with the LSWA All-State Class 1A Team.

Defending state Division IV champion Calvary Cavaliers had three players make the first-team honors and an overall state award.  Quarterback Landry Lyddy was announced as the Outstanding Offensive Award.  Lyddy finished with over 3500 yards passing and 43 touchdown passes.   Wide Receiver Jordan Wallace was the recipient of 17 of those touchdowns and reaching 1539 yards receiving.  On the defense, Dustin Lang terrorized opponents with 103 tackles for the year.   All-State Honorable Mentions for the Cavaliers included Trey Kelly, Denham Smith, Landon Mayeaux, Joseph Wilson

Homer’s semifinal appearance in the Class 1A may have been one of the most surprising runs in the playoff but the dividend for the players in recognition.  Terrenzo Winzer, Tamarean Grant, and John Watts were all recognized as honorable mentions on the All-State team.  

Haynesville made a quarterfinal appearance and the Golden Tors were helped off the back of Kedrick Grider.  Grider received honorable mention honors on the All-State team

Locally, All-District honors were handed out at the beginning of the month.  Congratulations to all the recipients
