District 1-A can continue to boast four teams residing in the top ten of the December 17 release of the power rankings. Lincoln Prep Panthers (6-1) had a big 3-0 weekend in the Arcadia tournament and solidified its No.2 ranking. The Panthers are within a quarter of a power ranking point of No. 1 Grand Lake (8-0). Plain Dealing Lions (4-3) moved up a spot to No. 8 after going 1-1 competing also in the Arcadia Tournament. Arcadia slipped a spot to No. 4 and Homer stayed put at No.6.
You thought that Lincoln Prep boys were close to the No. 1 spot, how about the Summerfield Lady Rebels (11-2) who continue to move up in the Class C girls rankings. The Lady Rebels ranked at No. 2 are 0.09 power ranking points behind the under No. 1 Hicks (21-0). A win over the 2A Lakeview Gators in the Atlanta Tournament gathered not only the win power ranking points but also a few extra by beating a higher classification team. Gibsland-Coleman dropped a spot with a tough weekend at the Arcadia Tournament but rebounded with a win over Ringgold on Monday night.
Doyline Panthers (15-2) continued to remain at the No. 1 spot again sweeping three wins and capturing the Doyline Tournament.
Haynesville Lady Tors (5-2) also held on to the No. 1 slot in the Class A ranking. The Lady Tors knocked out three wins in Arcadia this past weekend.
Calvary Cavaliers (2-3) dropped a close game against 4A Peabody and fell to No. 5 in the Division IV power ranking.
Despite dropping two games in Arcadia this past weekend, New Living Word Lions (7-6) hold on to the No. 7 slot in the Division V power rankings.
LHSAA does stress that these are unofficial results. These are unofficial due to not confirmed, not-played, postponed, disputed and cancelled games. These do include out of state games and tournaments.
