The Calvary Lady Cavs currently sit at No. 3 in Division V in the latest release of the LHSAA Volleyball Power Ranking. The only teams above them are No. 1 Metairie Park Country Day (15-9) and No. 2 Westminster Christian (15-4). Opponent’s records of the two teams are a clear indicator of the higher rank.

Calvary (16-1) has not been able to play since Thursday where they suffered their first loss of the season. The Lady Cavs were supposed to play Natchitoches-Central but the match was canceled.

Their last game of the season will come on the road against the West Monroe Lady Rebels. This game could play a crucial role in the Lady Cavs power rankings. A win will give them 19 or 20 points towards the calculation of their power points. A loss would give them 4 or 5 points toward their ranking. This could be the difference between possibly getting a 2-seed to a 5-seed. Both very good seeds and possibly giving them back to back home playoff matchups. The Lady Cavs could be looking at a first-round match against cross-town rival Evangel (3-9) who sits at No. 30. Getting wins after the first two rounds would send Calvary to the state tournament in Pontchartrain Center in Kenner starting with the quarterfinals.

A plethora of games will be played between now and the end of the season on Halloween. The Lady Cavs can only take care of what they handle on Thursday at West Monroe. After that game, they will try to rewrite history to take their first playoff win.
