The Calvary Lady Cavaliers are returning to the state championship for the first time since 2017. For the third straight playoff game, they have run-ruled their opponent. Today’s victim was the Riverside Academy Lady Rebels taking the 13-3 win in the midday game in Sulphur.

“Today was an unbelievable team win.,” said Calvary coach Tiffany Wood. “Every kid on our team stepped up and did their job! I could not be more proud of our team where the vibe, attitude, and confidence were exactly what we wanted! We have a talented group of players and seeing it all click and then perform like they did today is magical! We also overcame the pouring down rain we had to unload everything in, walk from place to place in and warm up in Thank you Lord for letting the rain slack off!”

The next opponent for the Lady Cavalier will be No. 2 Catholic-Point Coupee who also run-ruled their semifinal opponent No. 3 Ascension Catholic 13-1 in five innings.

The Lady Cavaliers didn’t waste time as the defense went three up, three down. The Lake Charles area must have heard explosions all over the area with the bombs that were being hit by the Cavaliers. An error by the centerfielder adds Fielder on base. Cory’s walk loads the bases for the Lady Cavaliers. Woodle hits into a double play but scores another for Calvary. Fielder ends the game with a single to shortstop scoring Ramsey Walker to give the Lady Cavaliers the 13-3 win.

Ramsey Walker was a double away from hitting the cycle on her 4 for 4 performance but two home runs, a triple, and 5 RBIs is not too shabby. DJ Lynch went 3 for 4 with a homer, double, and an RBI. Elana Franks goes 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Riley Walker also went 2 for 3 including a home run and an RBI. Jamie Field goes 2 for 4 and an RBI.
