The Hornets flew into Plain Dealing and had to put up 54 points to walk out with a win in Plain Dealing on Friday night. Arcadia had to rely on quarterback Tyler Jefferson to hit on all cylinders as he posted 5 touchdowns rushing, a passing touchdown, an interception, and a fumble recovery to get the win. Khyrese Taylor, Markecion Carr, and GeAuntre Nelson all added touchdowns for the win for Arcadia. Defensively, Ja’Qualon Crane came in for the defense with 8 tackles and 5 assists, Khyrese Taylor gained 2 tackles and 4 assists, and Michael Harris got 6 assists. Delandric Jones snagged an interception.

The Lions have nothing to hang their head about with the loss. LaDavious Scott pounced for 71 yards and a touchdown and three 2-point conversions. Kelonje Perry passed for 165 yards and rushed for 58 yards to put a touchdown on the board. Cedarius Johnson pounded into the end zone for 2 yards for a touchdown. Darrien Perry added some excitement with an 80-yard touchdown from a kick off return. Perry was a beast on defense also with 7 tackles and 1 assists. Duranczyk Newton was strong with three tackles and two assists.

Lions jumped out first with Scott reaching the end zone on a five-yard touchdown run. Arcadia marched down the field with a four yard touchdown run followed by another drive to the 2 and take the lead for the first time in the game. Plain Dealing came back down the field again and gave the ball to Kelonje Perry for the 7-yard touchdown run. Not to be outdone, Khyrese Taylor broke open for a 46-yard touchdown run to give Arcadia the lead at the end of the action-packed first quarter 22-16.

Plain Dealing would not lose grip of the game-tying up with a 2-yard touchdown run by Cedarious Johnson to tie the game at 22. Tyler Jefferson took a hook right on the option to run it in for 12 yards and give Arcadia the lead once again. Jefferson facing a 4th and 25 struck from the air on a 25-yard pass to Ge’Auntre Nelson to close out the high scoring first half 36-22.

Darrien Perry closed the gap for the Lion with an 80-yard kickoff return to get Plain Dealing within 36-30. Arcadia answered with 18 unanswered points to close out the game with the 54-30 win.

Plain Dealing will hopefully get to flex some of what the Lions can show to win with a trip to Lincoln Prep. Arcadia will have to weather a storm coming to their home stands as the Haynesville Tors will come into town.
