Another quickly rescheduled game due to COVIID-19 found the Homer Pelicans reach out to the newly renamed North Caddo Titans. The Pels defeated the defending District 1-2A champs 20-18 in Homer.
The Pels offense was led by Jaylon Calome who rushed for two touchdowns and 55 yards for the evening. Quarterback Takeviuntae Kidd slung the pigskin for 133 yards and a 17-yard touchdown to Torrenzo Winzer.
Homer Pelican defense held off the Titans behind 8 tackles for Tamarean Grant. Jaylon Calome struck hard on both sides of the ball with 7 tackles. Finally, Walteze Ford collected 7 tackles.
North Caddo scored first in the first quarter to give the Titans the early lead. Calome found the holes up the middle bursting out for the 38-yard touchdown. Kidd connected with Winzer for the 17-yard touchdown pass before the half as Homer took a 14-6 score into the locker room.
North Caddo scored again in the third to close the gap to 14-12 heading into the final frame. The Titans regained the lead in the fourth quarter with another touchdown. Homer sealed the win with a crash into the end zone on a 1-yard run to Calome.
Homer will try to stay undefeated in district as they will host Calvary on Friday night.
