Calvary Powerlifting Guys Get Their Shot At Competition in West Monroe

The boys powerlifting team from Calvary had to help out the Calvary Invitational a couple of weeks ago. Last weekend was the chance for the state champion team to shine. The Cavaliers captured five separate divisions and Cameron Fileccia claimed the Outstanding Lifter Light Platform.

The Cavaliers took three of the top five slots in the Outstanding Lifter for the Light Platform group. Cameron Fileccia captured the 123.5 division and top honors at West Monroe High School with 333.405 wilks. Cameron Thomas who also won the 165.3 division won second in the Outstanding Lifter – Light Platform. Latarraus Jackson rounded out the top five in the Outstanding Lifter –Light Platform. Jackson finished second to Fileccia in the 123.5 division.

The Cavaliers placed two in the top five of the Outstanding Lifter Heavy Platform. Drake Roten lifted more weight than any competitor with 1220. Roten squatted 455, benched 315, and deadlifted 450 for the day. He finished as runner-up just a little over 3 wilks short of Cedar Creek’s Nick Adams. Joseph Wilson finished fourth in the Outstanding Lifter Heavy Platform. Wilson finished third in Adams’ 181.1 division.

Jordan Wallace had to outperform Wossman’s Broderick Stinson by 20 pounds on the deadlift to take the 148.8 division. Both competitors had matched on the squat and the bench.

Parker Malone dominated the 245.5 division by winning over 95 lbs and totaling 1110 for the day. Finishing third in the same division, Josh Peterman lifted 985.

Dalton Lang finished second in the 114.5 division with 525 pounds. Sam Davis finished fourth in the same division.

Roderick Harris finished third just five pounds behind the runner-up in the 132.3 division.

Joseph Wilson matched Adams on the deadlift with 385 and took home third place with 855 in 181.8 division.

Eli Chism pushed 1055 lbs total and finished third in the 220.3 division. Chism tied for the best bench with 285.

The Cavs and Lady Cavs will have to wait for a little over two weeks until they cross the Red River to compete in the Airline Invitational.
