Gibsland-Coleman will be represented by both the boys and the girls’ teams in the finals on Saturday night of the Bienville Parish Tournament held at Saline High School. The Bulldogs battled through another close matchup as they edged out Saline 48-45. The Lady Bulldogs moved to the finals with another dominating performance in the tournament. Arcadia Hornets filled the final slot in the boys’ finals with a big win over Castor.

ARCADIA HORNETS 62, CASTOR TIGERS 29

Castor stayed close to Arcadia in the first quarter as the Hornets took a 16-11 lead going into the second quarter. Arcadia found success behind the arc as Demarion Richardson netted two 3-pointers and Tyler Jefferson scored the other three. The Hornets outscored their opponents 19-5 in the second quarter and took a commanding 36-15 lead into halftime. Castor struggled T. Bates scored the lone 5 points for the Tigers. Arcadia cruised into the finals with the 62-29 win.

Arcadia top scorer was Demarion Richardson bucketed three 3-pointers on the way to 15 points. Tyler Jefferson popped the net for 11 points. Anthony Key chipped in 10. 

GIBSLAND-COLEMAN LADY BULLDOGS 67, SALINE LADY BOBCATS 31

The Gibsland-Coleman Lady Bulldogs continued to dominate the field in the Bienville Parish Tournament as they piled on another 30 point-plus win on Friday night. Jamaya Jackson piled in nine points along with Ke’Honesty Williams seven points in the first quarter gave the Lady Bulldogs the lead 19-9. Jackson scored another six as Gibsland-Coleman took a 35-15 lead into halftime. The Lady Bulldogs continued the offensive attack as Williams and Jackson continued the hot hand with seven points each and eased into the finals with the 67-31 win.

Jamaya Jackson only had six points against Ringgold on Thursday night, but she made up for it on Friday as she netted 28 points. Ke’Honesty Williams had another strong performance as she scored 17. Samora Sampson added 12 points. 

GIBSLAND-COLEMAN BULLDOGS 48, SALINE BOBCATS 45

As if Thursday night’s nail biter against Ringgold wasn’t enough, they decided to go for Round 2 against the Saline Bobcat and take it to their semifinal game to the wire. The Bulldogs rode on the eight points first quarter by K. Abney as they took the early 18-10 first-quarter lead. The Bobcats close the gap to close out the half only down 26-22. Stephen Brown was on fire from 3-point land as he swished three in the third quarter and brought the game to within 1 point heading into the final quarter. Saline lost Xzonder Washington in the final quarter due to fouls. The Bulldogs held on to move into the finals.

K. Abney strong first-quarter performance put him as the top Bulldog at 15 points.

Saline triple attack by Stephen Brown at 15 points, Blake Clifton for 12 points, and Xzonder Washington at 11 was a threat to the Bulldogs win. 

The finals are set in Saline as the Gibsland-Coleman Lady Bulldogs will face the Castor Lady Tigers at 6 pm on Saturday. Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs will take on the Arcadia Hornets at 7:30
