The Gibsland Coleman Bulldogs are in a battle in Class C to crack the top 10. Well, they did it this week. They may have dropped a game last week but the bonus six additional power points for taking on Class 5A helped their cause. The Bulldogs jumped two spots from last week’s power ranking. Ranking 10-15 in Class C are all within one power point of each other. Also, with the Bulldogs making the Top 10, all three boys teams and both girls teams in Class C currently hold a top 10 ranking. With no change in their record, Summerfield dropped a spot to No. 4. New Living Word holds at No. 7 in Division V despite dropping three games since the last ranking. The Lions are within 0.15 points of moving to No. 6.

On the ladies’ side, the two squads in District 1-C stayed at their same positions. Summerfield Lady Rebels showed no change in record and remained at No. 3 for another week. A win over Doyline Lady Panthers improved the Lady Bulldogs record to 17-6 but held steady at No. 5. Gibsland-Coleman looks to have a firm grip on the No. 5 spot with a little under seven points over No. 6. No. 4 Plainview is almost four points over the Lady Bulldogs.

Staying put looks to be a common theme in this week’s power ranking. Doyline Panthers stretched their winning streak to 17 wins, but are still holding on to the No. 2 spot for another week with an 18-2 record. Next week might be a different story as Doyline will get to record a win against Choudrant and add a bonus point with Class A Ringgold along with the win. No. 1 Simsboro currently holds 0.56 lead over the Panthers.

District 1-A shows four boys teams currently holding down Top 10 spots. Lincoln Prep fell to 2A Red River last week and dropped a spot to No. 4. Arcadia picked up a win over New Living Word since the last power rankings and maintained their No. 7 spot. Homer dropped a close matchup to Class 3A Green Oaks in Shreveport. The Pelican maintained their No. 9 ranking for another week. Calvary had a strange slip in their ranking from No. 3 to No. 4. The Cavaliers pulled out wins over 2A Lakeside and 3A Loyola. Crescent City who is currently No. 2 appears for in Division IV rankings this week where they were in the Division V rankings last week. We’ll see if the adjustment changes next week.

Showing no change in record last week, Haynesville maintained the No. 3 spot. Lincoln Prep Lady Panthers slipped a spot to No. 8 with a loss to Red River. Homer Lady Pels maintained their No. 10 slot with a loss to Green Oaks in Shreveport.
